Boston 4.15.13

As word quickly spreads regarding the horrific events unfolding in Boston today, it is important to remember something.  Social media, particularly Facebook and Twitter, is not meant to show others that you’re the first to know certain details.  The cell phone lines are out across Boston, so there are people posting on Facebook to specifically let family members know that they are okay. 

We are all speechless.  We are all saddened.  We are all praying for the victims, their families and our country.  This is not the time to throw up the hashtags, repost the news reports and state how you cannot even begin to understand how monsters could do something, that this is 100 times worse than North Korea and that you have no hope for the human race.

You have no hope in the human race?  How about you go look at the first responders and good Samaritans bravely rushing to the aid of those in need. 

I’m not here to complain, but to simply remind the world that there is a time and a place for everything.  We are all keeping Boston in our thoughts and prayers, but much of it can be done outside of the social media world and in private.  I promise you the prayers work just the same. 

Because seriously, I’m about to delete a whoooooole lot of you on Facebook for your serious and continuous lapse in judgment.
